MoonPay has started accepting Discover Network cards for digital asset purchases in the United States. Discover cardholders can now use a familiar payment method to acquire supported tokens through MoonPay's infrastructure.

The company says the new route covers thousands of assets, including BTC, ETH, BNB, XRP, SOL, TRX, HYPE and ZEC. For users, the update reduces dependence on a separate bank transfer or a card issued through another payment network when entering the crypto market.

The change does not alter wallet architecture or turn card transactions into blockchain payments. The card is used during the purchase stage, after which the digital asset is delivered through the route selected by the user. Its practical value will depend on approval rates, fees, limits and the availability of particular tokens. For MoonPay, this expands its U.S. payment infrastructure, while Discover gains another connection to crypto purchases.
