SBI Holdings announced that it has completed the acquisition of a controlling stake in Holdbuild, the owner of Singapore crypto platform Coinhako. The transaction closed after receiving the required approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Coinhako is now a consolidated subsidiary of SBI. Through Hako Technology, the platform holds a Major Payment Institution license in Singapore and serves retail and institutional digital-asset customers in the local market.
The acquisition expands SBI’s regulated footprint in Asia and complements the group’s other work in tokenization, stablecoins and cross-border settlement. Financial terms were not publicly disclosed. SBI previously said the transaction would combine a purchase of shares from existing owners with a fresh capital injection into Coinhako’s business.
