SBI Holdings has completed the acquisition of a controlling stake in Holdbuild, the owner of Singapore crypto platform Coinhako.
The transaction closed after approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Coinhako is now a consolidated subsidiary of the Japanese group and continues operating through Hako Technology, which holds a Major Payment Institution license. The platform serves retail and institutional customers with digital-asset trading and custody services.
Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition expands SBI’s regulated presence in Asia and complements the group’s work in tokenization, stablecoins and cross-border settlement. The transaction previously included both a share purchase from existing owners and a new capital injection into the business.
