Input Output is preparing to transfer several foundational Cardano components to independent developers and external engineering teams.

The transition covers the Haskell node, Plutus, Hydra, Daedalus and parts of developer relations. It is expected to begin in August and proceed gradually to preserve release processes and technical support. Input Output will continue research and work on new ecosystem projects but will no longer serve as the sole maintenance center for several important products.

The handoff does not change consensus rules or require immediate replacement of existing software. It is an organizational restructuring intended to distribute development responsibility and reduce the network’s dependence on a single company.
