NOWPayments and BlockSec published a free security and technical compliance checklist for crypto payments. The document includes 25 controls across nine categories: key management, smart contracts, transaction signing, operational access, DNS, monitoring, AML/CFT, stablecoin freeze risk and continuous improvement.

This matters less as a marketing PDF and more as a sign of payment infrastructure maturity. When companies accept crypto payments, risk often comes not from the blockchain itself, but from operations: who signs transactions, where reserves sit, how approvals work and what happens during a stablecoin freeze.

The risk is that a checklist is easy to download and hard to implement. Next, watch whether payment providers turn these controls into audit standards and regular verification processes.
