Keeta and LayerZero have announced a partnership to make tokenized commercial bank money transferable across Keeta Network, Ethereum, Solana and Base. The new Keeta Stablecoins will use LayerZero's OFT standard, while the issuing institution retains control over contracts and distribution rules.
The assets will be backed by commercial bank deposits held through financial technology platform Bivo and its partner bank network. Later in July, the companies plan to introduce U.S. dollar issuance alongside eight other currencies, including the euro, yen, pound, Canadian dollar, Mexican peso and UAE dirham.
The main difference from a conventional multichain stablecoin is the stated connection to commercial bank money. The partners are trying to combine regulated issuance with open blockchain networks. The practical test begins after launch, when the market can evaluate liquidity, redemption, issuer controls and the compatibility of rules across different chains.
