A group of 27 crypto and infrastructure companies formed the Internet Court consortium, led by the GenLayer Foundation. The initiative is designed around agent-to-agent contracts, with payment, escrow and dispute-resolution tools.
Named participants include GenLayer, OKX, 0G Labs, ZKsync and MetaMask Smart Accounts Kit integration.
This matters because AI agents may soon make payments, book services or execute software tasks without constant human input. If these actions create disputes, crypto systems need more than settlement; they need a way to handle broken promises, unclear terms and failed delivery. The second-order risk is legal mismatch: protocol-level resolution may not equal enforceable legal finality in every jurisdiction.
Next, watch whether real agent workflows use the system and how disputes are recognized outside the protocol.
