Galaxy has acquired about 500 acres in McGregor, Texas, for an AI and high-performance computing data center campus. The company also said it executed a services agreement with the utility for interconnection facilities. The first development phase is expected to reach about 74 MW, while the site could potentially grow into a multi-hundred-megawatt campus.

For crypto, the news is broader than a real estate purchase. Galaxy is showing how digital asset firms can move into the same energy and data-center competition as AI infrastructure companies. That changes the business profile: revenue depends not only on markets, trading and investments, but also on physical execution.

The risk is delivery. Land and power access do not equal a finished campus. Next, watch interconnection timing, HPC customers and whether utilization grows beyond the first phase.
