This matters because network progress is not only measured by headline TPS claims or token price. Reliability depends on many smaller upgrades: client diversity, faster signature verification, better packet handling, broader RPC support and better developer testing. The second-order risk is coordination complexity.

More clients and tooling improve resilience, but they also require careful version management across validators, RPC providers and app developers.
