Cosmos Labs and Peersyst have signed a memorandum with LNET for Project CBWeb3. The initiative will explore how central bank digital currencies and tokenized financial assets could move across national and regional blockchain networks in Latin America.

The project is aimed at central banks and financial institutions. Its stated objective is to create interoperability between different systems while preserving each country's control over monetary policy, security and asset rules.

The memorandum does not represent the launch of a shared CBDC or a completed settlement network. The parties remain at the collaboration and technical evaluation stage. The harder challenge will extend beyond moving tokens between chains to aligning identity, payment finality and responsibility across several jurisdictions.
