S&P Dow Jones Indices and Pantera Capital have launched the S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index. The benchmark is designed for institutional investors seeking a structured way to evaluate blockchain projects and related companies.
Its methodology emphasizes real usage and revenue rather than relying only on market capitalization, price momentum or token popularity. Bitcoin and memecoins are intentionally not the foundation of the index. Artemis provides data used in the selection process.
The index is not itself a fund and does not guarantee that an investable product will become available. It may serve as a benchmark for asset managers and future index-linked instruments. The launch represents an effort to bring traditional distinctions between speculative assets and measurable economic activity into digital-asset allocation.
