Kraken announced that xU3O8 is available for trading as of July 30. This is not a typical meme token or another DeFi asset. xU3O8 belongs to the tokenized commodities theme, specifically uranium, which is slowly moving beyond the narrow RWA niche.

That makes the listing notable. Most tokenization discussion focuses on treasury funds, private credit or equities. Commodity-linked assets are harder. They depend on storage, ownership rights, asset quality, redemption rules, liquidity and compliance across jurisdictions.

A Kraken listing does not solve all of those questions. It gives the asset more visibility and potentially a broader market. Still, the fact that a major exchange is adding this kind of instrument shows that RWA is expanding beyond stablecoins and tokenized money market funds.

For investors, the real checklist is unchanged. What exactly backs the token? Who holds the underlying exposure? What rights does the holder have? How transparent is the exit mechanism? Without those answers, tokenization can look modern without becoming easier to understand.
